Reasons for joining the Hui O' Na Wahine:
  • Activities:  The Hui sponsors a variety of activities for their members.  See the Activity Clubs or Calendar pages for more information.
  • Events:  The Hui also sponsors events such as fashion shows, cultural activities and monthly luncheons.  See the Hui Luncheons or Calendar page for more information.
  • Fundraising:  In support of our mission statement the Hui engages in revenue-producing activities to benefit the soldiers and family members in the local community.  All proceeds from these events are donated to our Scholarship and Welfare funds.  See Scholarships and Welfare for more information.
  • Scholarships:  Each spring the Hui awards a portion of the proceeds they raise to deserving college bound students.  Hui members are also eligible to receive scholarship monies for continuing education programs.  See Scholarships and Welfare for more information.
  • Welfare Grants:  Each spring the Hui gives away money slotted for welfare grants.  Last year such recipients included scouting organizations, TAMC Fisher House, Wheeler YMCA, and the Exceptional Family Member Respite Fund.  By attending fundraisers and supporting the Thrift Shop, you are contributing to the Welfare Fund, therefore having a strong impact on your community.  See Scholarships and Welfare for more information.
  • Aloha:  Most of the all, the Hui offers friendship, respect and unwavering support!

    Hui Membership Details

    Membership applications are accepted throughout the year starting at the annual Hui Super Sign-Up in August.  The annual fee is $25.00 and is reduced by half the cost after January 1st.  If joined prior to December 31st of that membership year, then they may apply for a scholarship with no application fee.  If joined after December 31st of that membership year and paid the half price membership fee then they may apply for a scholarship, but a $15.00 application fee will apply.

    The Hui membership includes an invitation to all events, the Hui Directory, and a monthly subscription to our monthly newsletter, the Hui Lei.
